HAMILTON, O ORGULHOSO – “I’m massively proud of my team. We’ve been working incredibly hard throughout the winter: we’ve never given up. We’ve had some tough years, but everyone in this team wants to succeed: to be the best. My first lap in Q3 felt pretty special – at the end of it, I felt it’d be surprising if anyone could push ahead of that. I just love qualifying, especially when you get the lap just right. It’s like heaven. Today we showed that we not only have the most beautiful car in Formula 1, but also the fastest!” SAP – “Mó orgulho, os cara tramparam feito uns louco, nóis é mclaren e não desiste nunca mano, a gente só sifu nos últimos anos, mas nóis é foda, quando fiz minha volta, mano, falei ‘nem fodendo os cara me pega’, treino é mó tesão, nóis tem o carro mais lindo e rápido pra caralho, chupa Vettel!”
WEBBER, O PREJUDICADO – “We knew there were some quick guys out there, McLaren and Mercedes especially and Roman did well too. Everyone always thinks we have special bits to keep coming back, but this year it’s opened right up. I didn’t have KERS at the end of the session – it’s a shame as it’s been faultless all winter.” SAP – “Pra variar essa merda de KERS só não funcionou comigo, já era foda quando a gente tinha o melhor carro, agora os cara fizeram uns carro bão também, neguinho acha que a gente sempre tem alguma coisa escondida, este ano não temos porra nenhuma, estamos fodidos.”
VETTEL, O CONFIANTE – “I think what we saw today was not a surprise, the lap times were close. We would have loved to have been closer to the front, but in Q3 I wasn’t happy with my lap. I made a mistake at the beginning, so that was down to me. I could have been one or two places higher, but that’s how it goes.” SAP – “Putaquepariu, ficar atrás do Webber não dá, fiz uma cagada monstro na minha volta, só isso explica, e o pior é que tá todo mundo andando bem, eu falei nos testes que estava todo mundo rápido e não acreditaram em mim, foda-se, sou bicampeão.”
RAIKKONEN, O BREVE – “There’s no issue with the car; I made a mistake. It cost us a good qualifying position but that’s how it goes sometimes. There’s plenty of speed in the car. The steering was fine. It’s not perfect for exactly what I want but it doesn’t affect my driving, so we’ll have to see what happens.” SAP – “O carro é bom, caguei na minha volta, o volante é uma merda, mas tá bom, foda-se, amanhã a gente vê.”
GROSJEAN, O RESSUSCITADO – “Today is like a dream come true. When I heard my position over the radio I just could not believe it. This third position shows one thing: you must believe in your dreams and hold on to them, whatever happens. Very few people still had faith in me after my first life in F1, but we’ve all worked very hard to start a new adventure and I’m very happy.” SAP – “Bicho, quando me falaram que eu tava em terceiro não levei fé, bicho, me foderam muito aquela vez lá, bicho, tem que acreditar, bicho, eu acredito, bicho, acreditaram em mim, bicho, se eu chorar apareço na Globo?”
DOMENICALI, O JURADO DE MORTE – “We can only be disappointed after this qualifying session. It hurts to have neither driver on track for the final part of the session, even if we know that Fernando had every chance of getting at least this far if he had not got caught up in one of those incidents that are part of the game. Felipe was struggling with the balance of the car right from the morning and we need to look at it in depth to work out why. We knew it would be tough for us and that’s how it went. I understand that at the moment, our fans are disappointed, but I would urge them to be cautious before making any definitive judgement. Given our grid positions, the realistic aim is for us to get both cars into the points.” SAP – “Fodeu.”
ALONSO, O CONFORMADO – “Today, we lacked performance, especially because we did not have enough aerodynamic downforce and we are still lacking in top speed. Let’s hope for a good start in order to catch those who are a few rows ahead of us and then fight with them to the end. Sure, there are other teams that have made progress. In Malaysia, we will have the same car, therefore the situation won’t change much. It’s true our target at the start of the year was to fight for the win right from the beginning and we have not managed that, but this will be a long season. There’s no point getting angry as it does not serve any purpose.” SAP – “Fodeu.”
MASSA, O ANGUSTIADO – “I am very disappointed: this is not the start to the season I was expecting or hoping for. The balance of the car was never what I wanted and I never managed to get a clean lap. I was always lacking grip, both on the Mediums and the Softs and I suffered with oversteer on entry and understeer on exit. I don’t know why, but the car seemed to be worse than in winter testing. Clearly we are behind, maybe more than we had expected and there are other teams that have improved a lot compared to last year.” SAP – “Fodeu.”
FRY, O FRITO – “Clearly the two drivers’ grid positions are what they are, but we will give it our best shot. And it is equally clear that we must work like never before to make the F2012 quicker and to try and reduce the gap to the best as soon as possible.” SAP – “Onde eu vim me meter?”
GLOCK, O ESQUECIDO – “Free Practice 3 was my first chance to drive the car in stable conditions and it was clear that we had a lot of work to do on set-up. I am very pleased with what we have achieved so far. Mechanically everything is working well. The baseline is right but we have a lot of catching up to do. I have to say though that I am looking forward to the future.” SAP – “Como é que eu consegui classificar uma bosta dessas? Só eu mesmo. Puta carro ruim. De carro, mesmo, tem as quatro rodas e um motor. Fiz milagre, mas ninguém mais olha pra mim.”
DE LA ROSA, O INCOMPREENDIDO – “We did all we could today. These days have been very hard for all of us, including the drivers. But there’s a lot of room for improvement and, although it’s true that we have to change many things, we know what they are, so all I can say is that we need to be patient. This is a test for us, it’s our preseason. The downside is that we’re doing it in front of the cameras because everything is more evident.” SAP – “Foda é passar vergonha na frente de todo mundo. Pelo menos a gente sabe agora o que precisa fazer no carro para ele andar. Tipo tudo, um motor, um chassi, uma suspensão. Ainda bem que sou jovem e posso esperar uma chance numa equipe grande.”
HAUG, O EXIGENTE – “The reigning World Champions and clear favourites for this season will be starting behind Michael which shows how surprising Formula One can be. For the race, a podium has to be our aim.” SAP – “Esses fedelhos que vendem bebida energética pra balada ficaram atrás do nosso velhote. Mas tem que dar um pódio logo, senão mando esse velhote pra puta que pariu porque já encheu o saco pagar o que pagamos pra ele.”
VERGNE, O CABAÇO – “That was not bad I think, even if it is a bit disappointing to have missed out on Q3 by a very small margin. But I still have a lot to learn at this stage and the main thing is that everything went well and I am enjoying all the new experiences. My target for tomorrow? To score some points.” SAP – “Isso aqui é bico. Se soubesse que era tão bico, tinha entrado antes.”
